Cath Davies, my mum, sadly passed away suddenly on the evening of 1st March 2007 at the age of 54. It came as a great shock to us all as she had not been unwell at all and seemed to be in good health. We later found out that she had dilated cardiomyopathy which is a heart condition that is often undetected and can result in sudden death. Nothing could have been done to save her. We are all left devastated at the loss of such a great person. She leaves me her only daughter, her parents Dai and Lyndel, sisters Del and Llin, nephews Huw and Ben and partner Ged (Dudley).

Born on 12th September 1952 to her proud parents Dai and Lyndel at Aberystwyth Hospital, she was brought up on Trefere Farm, Verwig. When the other two sisters, Llinos and Del, came along mischief ensued from what iv been told! The three sisters, very close.

My mum was a very beautiful lady inside and out and when she was younger she was carnival queen many times.

She lived in the Cardigan area all her life and made her home at Blaenannerch where she lived for 30 years before she was taken. She brought me up on her own as my mum and dad separated when i was very young. As a result we were very close.

My mum worked hard as a painter and decorator and she absolutely loved it. She never stopped - there was always something that needed doing around the house/garden. She was never out of her overalls.

In the last 6 years she had been with her partner Dudley and was very happy and for that i am thankful.

People will remember my mum as a loving person, one of the best.

Always had a smile and lived life to the full. She was young at heart and full of fun.

My mum always said she didnt want to get old - she got her wish. Mam, you will now be forever young. You werent just my mum but my best friend too. Miss you more each day. Love you forever xxx

Even as the sun goes down
to end the light of day
it's rising on a new horizon
somewhere far away

And though our world seems darker
for the loss of the one we miss
our loved one's life is dawning
in a brighter world than this
